Healing is hard and so is trusting the healing process.
For me, it’s healing from the effects of childhood sexual abuse. For you, it may be something completely different.
The process won't be easy, no matter what you’re healing from.
Trusting that everything will work out just fine…not always the easiest thing to do.
I sometimes wonder what this journey is supposed to look like. How hard will the journey ahead be? How much will it hurt? Who else will be hurt in the process? Will it be worth it? I know it’s worth it, but some days the idea of standing still almost convinces me to put the journey off for another day.
But, I know that’s not the answer.
Each day gets me one step closer to healing. Each day, I have to decide to fight for freedom mentally and emotionally. As one pastor said, “Freedom is not a feeling. It’s a decision.” However, just because I decided to be free doesn’t mean it comes easy. It is a daily battle, and I must stay the course. I have to. I have purpose to fulfill, dreams to pursue, and a family waiting to see the outcomes as a result of the roads I choose and the things I do.
I must keep going…
AND SO MUST YOU!
WHY KEEP GOING?
Giving up is no longer an option, not that it ever really was. God, help me keep going. Help those reading this blog keep going:
When life gets tough (not that it’s easy right now).
When giving up seems easier than going over.
When numbness tries to invade our space and keep us from feeling.
Help us keep pushing.
When the lies of the enemy slide in as truth, and we find ourselves in a state of confusion…keep us from falling.
On a real personal note, I know this road is not meant to be easy, nor is it for the faint of heart, but I also know that God is on this road with me, which means I am more than capable of completing the journey, with His help.
HOPE FOR THE JOURNEY AHEAD
To the ones that believe you’ve been dealt a bad hand, think again. To the ones who can’t imagine better for yourselves, try again. To the ones that stopped believing for anything because you didn’t feel God was listening to you, helping you, or willing to heal you, believe again. Again, I say, again!
God is Always with You
Make sure you are always with Him. Don’t allow the lies of the enemy to create a break in the one relationship you need to remain victorious. Don’t allow his antics to dissuade you from going all in with Jesus Christ. Don’t allow doubt to deny you the freedom you so strongly deserve, not for anything you’ve done, but for everything Christ died to protect.
You must keep going!
No matter what it looks like, who leaves, who doesn’t understand, nor what others have to say…keep pushing.
You will not fail!
You will not lose!
Because, yes you are fighting, but God is fighting, too…
And He ALWAYS wins!
